About Us

Unity Allies is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization that was formed to bring “Unity” to communities across the U.S.! Our mission is to educate, promote, and spread awareness in communities on diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging. We do this through events, public speaking, workshops, and other services for all entities to help spread awareness and educate those within the community! Our goal is to create more inclusive or “beloved” communities across the nation. Join us in making the world a better place for everyone!

about OUr founder

Chase Carson is the Founding Director of Unity Allies. He was born and raised in Laurel County. He is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting and is currently working on obtaining his MPA from Eastern as well.

Apart from his work with Unity Allies, Chase is extremely involved in the community. He was recently elected as a Commissioner for City of London Tourism, serves on multiple boards across different organizations, heavily involved in Church and working with and providing opportunities for the youth in his community.

After growing up and being exposed to racial differences and witnessing the tragedies of numerous African Americans across the nation, he felt in his heart the desire to help, educate, and inspire not only the people in his community but others in communities across Kentucky and the nation.

Chase has taken extensive training and certifications from the University of Central Florida, the King Center, and Google’s #IAMREMARKABLE training program amongst other trainings from different organizations and Universities. Chase is prepared and ready to help educate and lead not only his community, but other communities in Kentucky and across the nation forward in welcoming all groups of diversity!

what is diversity and inclusion?

Diversity is about recognizing, respecting, and valuing differences based on ethnicity, gender, color, age, race, religion, disability, national origin, and sexual orientation. It also includes an infinite range of individual unique characteristics and experiences, such as communication style, career path, life experience, educational background, geographic location, income level, marital status, military experience, parental status and other variables that influence person perspectives.

These life experiences and personal perspectives make us react and think differently, approach challenges and solve problems differently, and see different opportunities. Diversity, then, is also about diversity of thought.

WHY DIVERSITY & INCLUSION IS IMPORTANT

Communities and workplaces are becoming more diverse each year. Those within the community and the workplace must be educated and know how to interact with someone different from them to prevent the possibility of being uncomfortable around them and to make that person feel comfortable interacting with others. Having an inclusive environment is healthy and beneficial for everyone.
